A little piece of history

It all started 36 years ago when Greek-born entrepreneur, Christos Vassilios Liokouras, decided to hang his hat in Denmark and establish his first furniture showroom in Odense. With his philosophy of “Customer Satisfaction is Always Number One”, Christos V Liokouras passionately pursued his vision of expanding his furniture domain, becoming known to his European customers, manufacturers, importers and exporters as 'The Rattan & Bamboo King'.

Now headquartered on the tropical paradise island of Bali, Indonesia, LIO Collection continues the strong legacy of Christos V Liokouras' furniture business, with the retail and wholesale supply of Indonesian products. The LIO Collection encompasses top quality, light and heavy duty, indoor and outdoor furnishings in classic and contemporary designs, fashioned in teak, suar wood, mahogany, leather, bamboo, rattan, polyrattan and other indigenous and manmade materials. The furniture is complemented by exquisite handicrafts and homewares, intricate glass art, antiques, rugs, beautiful themed lamps, stone carvings, and a wide selection of original paintings created by local and expatriate residents of Bali. Additionally, LIO Lifestyle includes clothing for men and women, accessories and silver jewelery, while LIO print offers bespoke printing services. The ten gallery showrooms are conveniently located within the Kerobokan, Seminyak, Oberoi, Jimbaran and Tuban districts, as well as on the Ngurah Rai By Pass.

The day-to-day operation of LIO Collection is managed with precision and absolute attention to detail, supported by a competent, friendly and ever-smiling team of Indonesian staff in the Bali-based Head Office. Meanwhile, the chief administration office in Denmark ensures close coordination with the Company's valued European clients. Backed by more than 36 years of experience in supply, service and quality control, the team is trained to assist and understand the requirements of the clients. An exemplary standard of service ensures that products are delivered on schedule, while also meeting customer demand and exceeding customer satisfaction.

LIO Collection has always been at least one step ahead in market positioning. In May 2007, in recognition of the property boom and the growing need for indoor and garden lifestyle décor, LIO Collection had the foresight to establish its sales and marketing office in Chandler, Arizona, United States.

LIO Collection has an extensive network of partners and manufacturers in Central Java, Indonesia. Innovation and creativity has always been priority in the design and manufacture of the Company's products, keeping in step with global trends and the anticipation of future markets. The Company's manufacturing facilities include a 6000-square-metre furniture factory in Kudos, Central Java, together with a silver jewellery workshop and a 100-artist studio in Ubud, Bali.

Lio Collection Head Office

Advantageously positioned at the main crossroads in Kerobokan, the furniture district of Bali, the LIO Collection Head Office is the nerve centre of the operation. It is also one of the Company's two main showrooms, with the other located just 500 meters away. Managed by the highly-efficient Dina who has loyally worked for the Company ever since its inception in Bali LIO Collection Head Office employs ten administrative personnel and four sales staff. Covering two floors, the showroom's eclectic collection of outdoor furniture, pots, urns and statues, spills out onto the terraced exterior, while the interior is reminiscent of a bazaar with rustic and traditionally designed furnishings complemented by Indonesia-sourced artwork and home accessories. Overall, the LIO concept blends Oriental and minimalist design; a fusion that is unique to Asia. This is probably why LIO Collection has become an international brand, with family-owned and franchised enterprises in Denmark, Mauritius, Australia, Greece and the USA.
